Charlie Tours Europe To Support #1 Single "Proof"
Nashville recording artist Charlie Allen will undertake a two-week promotional tour of France and England to capitalize on the success of his single, “Proof,” which hit the #1 spot recently on Europe’s Hotdisc “Independent Top 20” chart and #3 on their “Top 40” radio chart, respectively. “Proof” is from Allen’s critically acclaimed CD, That Was Then, This Is Now.
While in France, Allen will attend MIDEM in Cannes, and will be available for interviews on Jan. 20 and 21. He and his label head, Diane Delena of River Run Records, are also scheduled to hold a press conference on Jan. 20 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Palais de Festivals, in Auditorium C on the 3rd Level. For additional press information or interview opportunities with Allen during MIDEM contact Preston Sullivan at 01.615.405.3103 or via e-mail: preston@prestonsullivan.net.
MIDEM, the music industry’s largest BtoB event, brings together 9,000 professionals from over 90 countries.
After MIDEM, Allen and Delena will travel to London, England, where “Proof” enjoys steady airplay on CMR Nashville and “Hot ‘n’ Gold,” two of Europe’s premier radio stations. Allen will make himself available for interviews from Jan. 23-31 at The Dorchester www.thedorchester.com.
Delena is excited about the prospects for the junket: “Charlie and I are thrilled to have planned this trip to MIDEM, coincidentally, at the same time of our first #1 record! We are both open to all the opportunities that an international career can provide. We know we are going to meet some of the best minds in the business here. Continuing on to London, hopefully shows everyone we are totally committed to supporting all efforts on our behalf. I feel the international market has a deep and true love of Country music and the fans truly appreciate the craft. We are looking forward to meeting everyone.”
"’Proof’ is my first #1song!” Allen says, beaming with pride. “Brian G. White and Steve Dean, my producers, and I had a great time writing this song. It came together in about two hours while at a writing session one afternoon in Nashville on Music Row. I had the hook ‘When the whiskey starts talkin' you can't close your mouth’ and we all started laughing about this humorous fact of life. It's that classic story of a drunk man's words, and a sober man's thoughts." Allen continues, “I am so looking forward to this trip and making new friends all across Europe!”
